Bran Muffins


1/2 cup of shortening
1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups wheat bran
1 cup raisins

Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs and beat together well, add milk and bran. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add to liquid ingredients. Add raisins. Place in greased muffin pans. Bake at 400 F for 18 to 20 minutes.
