1 t. sugar
1/4 t. salt
1 t. shortening
1/3 c. boiling water
1T. dry yeast in 2 T. lukewarm water
1 1/2 c. flour.
1. Place sugar, salt and shortening in mixing bowl-mix.
2. Add the boiling water- stir till smooth and melted.
3. Cool mixture till likewarm.
4. Add softened yeast.
5. Add 1/2 the flour and mix till smooth.
6. Continue to add remaining flour till dough is easy to handle--not too dry, not too sticky.
7. Place on lightly floured tray or counter.
8. Knead lightly 6 to 10 times.
9. Spread oil on a baking sheet.
10. Pat out dough on oiled sheet to a circle or square.
11. Let rest while grating cheese and making sauce.
Sauce 1. Place all sauce ingredients into a saucepan.
3/4 c. tomato puree 2. Simmer for 15 min.
1/4t. oregano Finishing
1T. oil 3. Spread sauce on dough-sprinkle with the
1/2 t. salt Grated cheese.
1/4 t. pepper 4. Bake a 425 for 15min.
