3 cups all-purpose flour
1 package fast-rising yeast
3/4 teaspoon salt
1-1/4 cups hot tap water (125 to 135f.)
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 egg
1 tablespoon cool water
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
prepared mustard
1. Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees
2. Grease a baking sheet
3. Measure out all ingredients reserve 1 cup all-purpose flour
4. In a large bowl, stir together 2t. flour, whole wheat flour, yeast and salt
5. Combine water, honey and oil. Add to dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon until combined. Add enough of the reserved flour to make a soft dough
6. Cut the dough into 12 pieces on alightly floured surface, roll each piece of dough into a smooth 15" rope. Form Pretzels .( the dough will contract a little, so enlarge the holes with your fingers). Combine the cool water and egg. Beat
7. Brush each pretzel with the egg mixture and sprinkle lightly with salt
