1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shortning
4 to 5 tbsp. COLD water
Not an exact amount - may only need 4
1. Mix flour and salt in medium bowl.
2. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender till the pieces are the size of a small pea.
*3. Sprinkle water over the flour mixture, 1 teaspoon at a time, tossing after each addition.
4. Form into a ball, using your hands as little as possible. Flatten lightly on floured surface. Roll from the center to the edge to 1/4 inch thickness.
5. Cut in circular shape using a cup rim as a guide.
6. Place filling, approximately 1 tablespoon, on half of the circle. Moisten edge with water.
7. Fold circle in half. Crimp the edge with fork to seal.
8. Poke the top with a fork to allow the steam to escape. Plave on cookie sheet.
9. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes till golden brown.
